A University of South Carolina baseball player has died after collapsing on the baseball field while getting ready for practice.
Shortstop Parker Neff, 21, died while preparing for baseball practice at USC Salkehatchie in Allendale, South Carolina, on Friday.
After Neff collapsed on the field, he was rushed to the hospital, where he was later declared dead at about 2.04pm, according to WSPA.

What cause his death has not been revealed yet. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday morning.
Neff had been a star high school baseball player for the South Carolina's Travelers Rest High School before attending North Greenville University, where he was redshirted in his freshman season, according to the Greenville News.
He then transferred to USC Salkehatchie, where he he was redshirted for his sophomore year. He was the starting shortstop for the current season.
The athletics department at his college tweeted: 'The USC Salkehatchie family is devastated by the death of Indian baseball player Parker Neff on Friday. We hold his family in our thoughts and prayers.'

Neff is now the fourth USC student to have died in the past week.
USC senior Samantha Josephson, 21, made national headlines after she was killed when she mistakenly got into a car that she believed to be her Uber. She went missing early Friday and was found dead Saturday morning.
Evan Jeffrey Gaines, 22, died at off-campus housing after sustaining gunshot wounds on March 26, according to The State. Police have ruled his death as a homicide.
The fourth student, whose name has not been released, was said to have committed suicide at a school parking garage on March 25, The State reported.
