She began her Meteorologist career at KOMU-TV as a Reporter of One-Man-Band, and then worked at University of Missouri as a Agriculture Forecaster, National Weather Service Cooperative Observer, and Case Study Co-Researcher. Sutton joined the 4Warn Storm Team in December 2009. She was KFOR-TV’s first female meteorologist. Emily started on air a few weeks before Oklahoma City’s largest snowstorm, the “Christmas Eve Blizzard,” In 2013 Emily was promoted to weekday mornings. She is a CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) by the American Meteorological Society.
