As his feud with Aaron Rodgers escalates over alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein, a video of Jimmy Kimmel has resurfaced hanging out with the disgraced financier's personal chef.
The late-night host hit back at the NFL star for comments he made during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. Rodgers and others began discussing Epstein, including the impending list of people associated with the convicted pedophile.
"A lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are hoping that doesn't come out," the New York Jets quarterback said on the show, adding that he would pop "some sort of bottle" when the list was finally released.
Epstein died by suicide while in custody awaiting trial on federal conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. He was previously jailed for procuring sex with an underage girl.
A judge signed an order on December 18 for the public release of the identities of more than 150 people mentioned in court documents from a now-settled 2015 civil lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre that centered on allegations that Epstein's associate and former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell facilitated her sexual abuse. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping Epstein recruit and sexually abuse underage girls.
Kimmel hit back at Rodgers' comments on X, formerly Twitter, saying he had not "had any contact whatsoever with Epstein" and "nor will you find my name on any 'list' other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can't seem to distinguish from reality."
"Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court," the comedian added.
But some conspiracy theorists dug deep into any possible connections Kimmel may have had with Epstein and found a video of him hanging out with Epstein's personal chef, Adam Perry Lang. The pair were good friends, but this does not suggest that Kimmel had any connection to Epstein.
The MythInformed X account posted a clip of the video, which went viral with 306,300 views at the time of writing.
It was accompanied by the comment: "Jimmy Kimmel and his bff Adam Perry Lang who was Jeffrey Epstein's personal chef for years."
The clip, which first aired on TV show Extra, shows Lang and Kimmel at the chef's new restaurant and explained they were long-time friends.
"We met, Adam was a chef on my show," Kimmel told a reporter.
Newsweek has contacted Kimmel's representatives by email for comment.
Lang has a long history with Kimmel and was even arrested on one of his properties in 2019.
Police responded to an incident of a man who had apparently shot his girlfriend with a rifle and planted several bombs around the house. Kimmel was not at the property at the time.
Authorities entered the building and took Lang into custody but a representative of Kimmel and Lang's attorney claimed a fake 911 call was placed in a practice known as swatting.
"The 'male' that called 911 was absolutely not Adam Perry Lang," attorney Glen T. Jonas told TMZ. "Mr. Lang will be cleared of any wrongdoing. He was fast asleep with his ringer off. He immediately cooperated once he was notified of the commotion."
Following that incident, Lang confirmed he was assisting New York prosecutors in their investigations into Epstein's sex ring.
"Meanwhile, Mr. Lang has begun a course of fully cooperating with the federal authorities investigating this case," Lang's attorney, Lawrence Lustberg told The Daily Beast in 2020. "He, like them and like the victims, wants only that justice be done."
Lang added in an email: "We have absolutely always been available to the attorneys for the lawyers representing the victims."
